Good-bye to 2007 - a Year With No Executions in Florida!

December 19, 2007 on 12:21 pm | In Uncategorized | |

We come to the end of 2007 with no executions – the first year in 24 years.  The State of Florida has killed someone every year since 1983.  No matter what holiday you celebrate – or even if you don’t celebrate the holidays – this year you should take a little time to celebrate the fact that 2007 was different for those of us who are against the death penalty.  We held no vigils at the Governor’s mansion and no memorial services at the capitol.

We’ll see what next year brings with the U.S. Supreme Court.  We can all hope for a Happy New Year in 2008!
